R.K. Mason [Ijamsville]

IJAMSVILLE - Mr. R.K. Mason, 53, of Ijamsville, formerly of Lonaconing, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at his home.
He was the husband of Chery King Mason.
Born June 8, 1954, in Lonaconing, he was the son of Robert Kenneth Mason Sr. of Lonaconing and the late Monica Lee Logsdon Mason.
He received his undergraduate degree from Frostburg State University, an MBA from University of Baltimore and he was a certified public accountant.
At the time of his death he was owner/operator of Quanta Bio-Sciences and Molecular Transfer, both located in Gaithersburg.
He was an avid golf player and was a member of Holly Hills Country Club and Cumberland Country Club.
Mr. Mason will be missed by many.
In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Mason is survived by two children, Michael Kenneth Mason and Kari Mason; one brother, Murray Mason, of Frederick; and one sister, Cindy Mason, of Palm Harbor, Fla. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church St., Frederick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 44 East Main St., Frostburg, with Father Paul Byrnes as celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lonaconing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Maryland Chapter, 11350 McCormick Road, EP3, Suite 100, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
