MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Mabel Lee Helmick, 81, of Moorefield, W.Va., passed away Monday evening, May 12, 2008, at the E.A. Hawse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Baker, W.Va.
Born July 15, 1926, in Hardy Co., W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie (Wratchford) Smith. Her husband, Earl M. Helmick, with whom they operated the E & M Coffee Shop for 23 years, preceded her in death in November 1995. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving is a son, Dwayne Helmick and wife Sharon, of Moorefield, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Alana Helmick; a grandson, Shane Nickleson; three great-grandchildren, James Moats, Alexis and Brittany Nickleson; and a special niece, Nora Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fraley Funeral Home, Moorefield, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield, W.Va., with Pastors Lucy and Russell Webster officiating.
Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
