Charles L. Younkin Sr. [Grantsville]

GRANTSVILLE — Charles Louis Younkin Sr., 52, of Grantsville, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at Braddock Hospital, Cumberland.

Born May 16, 1957, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was the son of Hilda (Platter) Younkin, Grants-ville, and the late Willis Younkin.

Mr. Younkin was a shipping clerk for Fechheimer Brothers and a member of Laughlin Church of the Brethren.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his wife, Denise Lynn (Berkley) Younkin; two sons, Charles Louis Younkin Jr. and wife Becky, Friendsville, Stephen Lloyd Younkin and fiancée Marlena Ligas, Accident; two brothers, Willis Younkin and companion Janine, Springs, Pa., Wilbur Younkin and wife Bonnie, Accident; five grandchildren, Matthew, Ethan, Ki, Jorjaray and Raven.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harry Patterson officiating.

Interment will be in Laughlin Cemetery.
