Arizona Clifford [Piedmont]

PIEDMONT, W.Va. — Arizona Clifford, 97, of Murphy Street, Piedmont, died at her home on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Keyser on April 25, 1912, and was the daughter of the late Jacob Redman and Annie (Davis) Redman. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John Lester Clifford, who died on Feb. 18, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Marie Lester; and two brothers and four sisters.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Christ in Piedmont. She was a devoted wife and mother who put Christ and her family above everything.
Arizona is survived by her two daughters, Rosalie A. Twyman of Piedmont, and Donna Jean Mobley of Philadelphia, Pa.; and two sons, Lester L. Clifford and Arthur P. Clifford of Piedmont. She is also survived by her twin sister, Naomi Marshall of Keyser; and 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grand-children; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 30 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont at 11 a.m. with Bishop Henderson Wheeler and the Rev. David Coleman officiating.
Interment will follow at Potomac Memorial Garden in Keyser.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Potomac Valley Hospice, Pinoak Lane, Keyser, WV.
They extend their special thanks to Marsha Combs R.N. and the caregivers, Christine Clay, Lori Twyman, Kim Cosner and Phyllis DiUbaldo for the loving care given to their mother.
