Lake Erie downs Frostburg State, 74-64

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Frostburg State scored 50 points in the second half but it wasn't quite enough to overcome a 14-point first half against Lake Erie in their Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game.

Mercedes White came off the bench to lead FSU (5-10, 2-7) with 17 points to go along with eight rebounds. Shanell Williams and Elizabeth Carrington each totaled 13 points while Jamie Morningstar grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds.

Alyssa Wagers led all players with 22 ponts, backed by 10-of-11 from the foul line for Lake Erie (8-7, 6-2). She also pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. Renese Ames and Jalisa Mitchell each added 14 points.

Lake Erie led 36-14 at the break, and was ahead by as many as 28 points in the second half, the final time being 57-29 with 9:26 to go. Still up 20, 63-43 with 4:20 left, the Bobcats went on an 18-7 run to get to within 70-61, but were unable to get no closer.

Frostburg State plays at Catholic on Wednesday in a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
