Potomac blasts Boyce

KEYSER — Julieanne Buckley poured in 26 points, dished out six assists and hauled in five rebounds as Potomac State hammered CCAC-Boyce 85-45 to clinch the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference regular-season championship Saturday afternoon.
Buckley and Ashley Heavener, freshmen and former standouts who led Hampshire High to last year’s Times-News Area championship, led the Catamounts’ overpowering performance against Boyce.
Buckley made eight field goals, with six being three-pointers, and went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line to lead all scorers for the Catamounts.
Heavener hit nine field goals and a pair of free throws for 20 points, and also had 10 rebounds and three blocked shots.
Amanda McKim chipped in with 13 points and Cassie Clark had 12 for Potomac State, now 13-6 overall. The Catamounts are 8-0 in the WPCC and hold a three-game lead with two conference games to play.
Corinne Suvak led Boyce with 16 points.
Potomac State plays at Frederick in a non-conference game on Monday at 5 p.m.
