Penn St. Behrend Beats Frostburg State 69-48

FROSTBURG — Three players scored in double figures and Penn State Behrend got 24 points from its bench in defeating Frostburg State in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game.

Julia Andrus hit three three-point goals and had 15 points while Kayla McLaughlin had 14 for Penn State Behrend (8-9 overall, 5-4 AMCC).

Jaime Morningstar led the Bobcats (5-12, 2-8) with 15 points and three three-point goals. Sidra Bing added 14 points and five steals.

Behrend shot 48 percent from the field in the first half in building a 28-18 lead, then hit six three-pointers in the second and extended the advantage to as many as 24 points with 4:20 to go. Andrus had 11 of her 15 points in the second half.

The Lions shot 63 percent from the floor (27 for 43), and were 8-for-11 (73 percent) from three-point range. Frostburg shot only 31 percent (20-for-64).

The Bobcats will try to snap a three-game slide when they host Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
