Garrett tops Baltimore City CC, 59-39

MCHENRY - Garrett College turned up the defensive heat to hold Baltimore City Community College to 39 points in the Lakers second win in as many days.

"We played back-to-back nights, and although you could tell the girls were a little winded they still gave the effort," said Garrett coach Thea Garland.

"It was also our first (Maryland JUCO) conference game, so it was a big win for us there as well."

The Lakers remain unbeaten at 5-0, and 1-0 in the JUCO.

Tegra Hillman led Garrett with 15 points, and Tanika Jeffers was the only other teammate with double figures at 11. Larissa McAdore finished with nine. Mindy Sharp led the team with 12 boards, and Hillman had nine.

Kacey Lewis scored 11 points for Baltimore City.

Aliesha Donavan Scored 19 points and Jeffers scored 18 as Garrett jumped out to a big lead and cruised to a 79-41 win over CCAC-Allegheny Tuesday evening.

The Lakers will travel to play Cecil Community College at noon on Saturday.
