Medaille wins over Frostburg State 60-49

FROSTBURG — Amanda Baker scored 19 points and hauled in 14 rebounds and Sara Bukas added 11 points and seven blocked shots as Medaille handed Frostburg State its sixth straight loss Saturday at Bobcat Arena.

Baker, held to just five points in the first half, had 14 in the second and the Mavericks (5-1 overall, 3-0 AMCC) outscored the Bobcats (3-6, 0-4) 36-20 after halftime. Frostburg led 29-24 at the break.

There were five ties in the second half, with the final one being at 48 after a layup by FSU’s Sidra Bing. Medaille took the lead for good by scoring six straight points for a 54-48 lead.

Jaime Morningstar led the Bobcats with 11 points. Shanell Williams had seven points and a team-high nine rebounds.

The Bobcats will be idle until hosting Mt. Aloysius on Jan. 5 at 1 p.m.
