Mountain Ridge dominates Hub Cup Tournament

All 14 Miners place; Whetstone ups record to 23-0

HAGERSTOWN - All 14 wrestlers for Mountain Ridge placed in the Miners' first-place finish at the Hub Cup Tournament this past weekend.

The Miners had a score of 233.5 to finish 41.5 points better than then second place Magruder.

Stephen Whetstone improved his season record to 23-0 and raised his career win total to 102 by winning the 140-pound class. Whetstone was named the tourney's outstanding wrestler and also had the fastest pin with a time of 18 seconds.

Ryan Clark won the most pins award for the second season in a row to help him to a third-place finish in the 119-pound class. Aaron Patterson (135) and Derrick Sisk (285) also finished second in their divisions.

Mountain Ridge will wrestle Thursday at Southern, at 7 o'clock.
