Ridge routs Fort Hill

CUMBERLAND — Mountain Ridge won seven weight classes by pinfall Wednesday, and the Miners had little hassle beating Fort Hill 60-9.

The Miners collected victories in the seven lightest weight classes, with four pins and won another match by technical fall. Tom Patterson won the 103-pound class, and Glenn Johnson the 112-division with pins.

Ryan Clark picked up a tech fall to win the 119, while Eric Burke (130) and Stephen Whetstone (140) won by decision. Cody Clise (125) and Aaron Patterson (135) also won their divisions by pinning their opponents.

Fort Hill’s Jacob Appel won a decision in the 140 division, and Jake Merritt did the same at 160.

Mountain Ridge’s Josh Guy got a pin in 3:26 to win the 152-pound class, while Justin Blubaugh (171), Nathan Payne (189) and Noah DeVore (215) round out the Miners’ victories with pinfalls.

Richard Lowery earned a 4-3 win for the Sentinels in the 285-pound class.

Mountain Ridge hosts Fort Hill on Thursday. Fort Hill wrestles today, at South Hagerstown.
