SHORT GAP - Colby Kiggins and Blake Mangold won individual titles and led Keyser to the team championship in the Potomac Valley Conference wrestling tournament held at Frankfort High School.
In the nine-team tournament, the Golden Tornado compiled 178 team points, six more than runner-up Musselman, and 13 more than third-placed Hedgesville. Berkeley Springs followed the Eagles in fourth place with 158 points, and Petersburg finished in fifth with 126. Martinsburg had 70 1/2 points, Jefferson 65 1/2, Frankfort 57 1/2 and Moorefield with 10.
Kiggins won the 103-pound championship while Mangold won the 145 class for Keyser, which also got second-place finishes from Alan Frush (112) and Tommy Stark (130), and third-place showings by Brandon Harris (125), Jordan Mellott (189) and Aaron Nelson (275). Taven Rohrbaugh (119), Lukas Rexrode (140), Brandon Swick (152) and Tanner Shoemaker (215) finished fourth.
Keyser's Cary Kyle was named the conference's coach of the year.
Dustin Kimble (119), Matt Porter (171), Derek Alt (189), Kris Warner (215) and Jamie Rohrbaugh (275) finished second for Petersburg, and Zach Oates (135) and Wes Barr (152) were the third.
Ben Snoberger was Frankfort's only second-place finisher with his performance in the 152-pound division. Dalton Layton (145), Scott Myers (160) and Dallen Rust (171) all picked up fourth-place finishes.
