Southern to host regional duals

OAKLAND - The undefeated Southern Rams will host the Maryland Class 2A-1A West Region dual wrestling tournament on Wednesday evening.

Southern (14-0 record, 8.0 power rating) is the top seed, and Mountain Ridge (10-2, 6.67) is the second seed. South Carroll and Williamsport round out the field, and both have 11-3 records and the same 6.29 power rating. South Carroll got the No. 3 seed based on a better points average against state-sanctioned schools, which is the third criteria out of seven used to break ties.

Wednesday's semifinals begin at 5:30, with Williamsport taking on Southern and South Carroll facing Mountain Ridge. The semifinal winners advance to the final at 7:30.
