Northern matmen win opener

ACCIDENT - Northern won all but three weight classes Wednesday night in its opening match to score a 63-12 win over Frankfort.

Kameron Kamp won the lightest weight class (103) by pinning his opponent in 53 seconds. Josh Duckworth (119), Dustin Stough (160) and Nick Owens also had pins for the Huskies. Andrew Ganoe (152) and Ryan Finzel (189) won decisions.

Andrew Reynolds, Corey Sebold, Adam Moranduzzo, Kory Kamp and Dylan Day collected forfeit wins.

Alec Peer won the 125-pound class by a 7-6 decision. Darrin Rust won a decision in the 171 class, and Isaac Turner pinned his 285-pound opponent in 1:35.

Northern (1-0) wrestles at the Max Horz Tournament at Berkeley Springs on Friday and Saturday.
