Fort Hill downs Boonsboro, 51-25

From Staff Reports
Cumberland Times-News

BOONSBORO - Fort Hill lost four of the five lightest weight classes, but lost only one of the other nine as the Sentinels won their season-opening match 51-25 over Boonsboro Wednesday evening.

Chase Hare was the only Sentinel under 130 pounds to win after he took a 11-4 decision in the 125-pound division. Hare was also the only wrestler from Fort Hill to win by decision.

Dylan Appel won the 140-pound class with a pin just 47 seconds deep. It took Jake Merritt (160) and Glenn Vincent (189) 1:56 to pin their opponents, and it took Daniel Leasure 1:51 to win the 215-pound class.

Jacob Appel (145), Shawn Wolfe (152) and Richard Lowery (285) all got victories by forfeits.

The Sentinels will wrestle again tonight and Saturday at the Thomas R. Davis Memorial Tournament at Mountain Ridge High School.
