HAGERSTOWN — The Bishop Walsh High boys soccer team went 3-1 in pool play to earn a spot in today’s semifinal round of the Maryland Independent Schools State Tournament at the Hagerstown Soccer Complex

Bishop Walsh is the second seed, and will play third-seeded West Nottingham in one of today’s 11 a.m. semifinals. The other pits top-seeded The Heights against fourth-seeded St. Maria Goretti. The semifinal winners play in the championship game at 3 p.m.

In pool play, games were 40 minutes, with 20-minute halves. BW beat Avalon 3-0, West Nottingham 1-0 and St. Maria Goretti 1-0 before losing to The Heights 1-0.

Today’s semifinal and championship games are regulation 80 minutes.
