SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. — Bruce Benjamin Gurenson, 78, of Sun City Center, formerly of Cumberland, Md., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at his home.

Born April 20, 1928, in New Rochelle, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles Gurenson and Rose (Richman) Gurenson.

A graduate of New Rochelle High School and New York University, Bruce was a real estate investor and rental property owner. He was the former manager of Gee Bees and similar stores out of town. Bruce lived in Cumberland for many years. He had a very successful business career in retail sales management and real estate. Bruce was an active member of his community and was honored with the Governor’s Award for his work with the Interfaith Consortium. He also served with great dedication at the B’Er Chayim Temple here in Cumberland and the Beth Israel Congregation in Sun City Center.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Billie J. (Agee) Gurenson; his son, Aaron Shepard, Olympic, Wash.; his daughter, Pamela G. Zaniowski, Sacramento, Calif.; his sister, Edith Gurenson, While Plains, N.Y.; his stepchildren, Michele De-Walker and her husband Sonny, Alexandria, Va., and Lisa Marie Winters and her husband Ron, Comstock, Mich., Michael Ingram, Patrick Ingram, both of Cumberland, Jeffrey Ingram of Colorado, William Ingram, Johnstown, Pa., and Gregory Ingram, Strasburg, Pa.; as well as 18 grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at 1 p.m. with Rabbi Stephen L. Sniderman officiating.

Interment will be in East View Cemetery.
