Unitarian service to focus on hope
CUMBERLAND — The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Greater Cumberland will focus on hope Nov. 10 as the Rev. Dr. Terry Ellen discusses the words of Vaclav Havel, who served as president of Czechoslovakia and then the Czech Republic. The offering will go to HOPE Station.
On Nov. 17, the Rev. Rebecca Vardiman will speak about racism. The Allegany County Lynching Truth & Reconciliation Committee has joined forces with the Brownsville Project to address the region’s history of racism.
On Nov. 24, the UU Program Committee will focus on “The Kindness of Strangers.” Attendees are invited to share their personal stories. At 6 p.m., an Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Service will take place sponsored by the Cumberland Area Interfaith Ministry Association.
All Sunday services begin at 10:45 a.m.
