Whoville comes to Braddock

Braddock on Broadway rehearses for “Seussical JR.” to be performed Jan. 27-28 and Feb. 3-4 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 29 and Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Braddock Middle School auditorium. Donations will be accepted. A young boy named JoJo, played by Oliver Nau, conjures up the Cat in the Hat (Emma Strother) and learns of the plight of the tiny citizens of Whoville. Their protector is Horton the Elephant (Brilynn Beatty). The small world is threatened by Sour Kangaroo (Aubrey Jackson), the Young Kangaroo (Tess Locke) and the Wickersham Brothers (Caius Bennett, Clay Bailey, Herbert Twitty). Horton’s admirer, Gertrude McFuzz (Cordelia Israel) is joined by his friend Mayzie La Bird (Desirae Hilton). The Bird Girls (Kadence Benson, Abigail Bittner, Bailey Llewellyn, Miley Murphy, Olivia Thompson, Braelyn Wilhelm), Thing 1 and Thing 2 (Claire Buskirk, Tegan Diehl), Judge Yertle the Turtle (Reese Tabb), Vlad Vladikoff (Iris Kujenga), The Grinch (Abigail Perrin), and Sam I Am (Zaya King) all help the story along. Mr. and Mrs. Mayor of Whoville are portrayed by Gabriel Strozykowski and Kristina Kucher.
