CUMBERLAND - The end of the first semester and the close of the second marking period for the Allegany County public schools will be Jan. 17. Interim reporting procedures have been adopted by the public school system.

In most cases, students will only receive an interim report if they are earning a "D" or an "F" in a class or if they have dropped a full letter grade in a particular course. Parents may request a report of an individual student's progress at any time throughout the school year, however, by contacting their child's school. Guidance counselors will assist with this information.

Westmar Middle School is participating in an online grading system pilot program, so parents of those students can access grades at any time during the year at acps.allconet.org under the "Parents" tab. Parents also may contact the school to request a student's interim report.
