ADDISON, Pa. —A 23-year-old Accident woman was taken to Cumberland Memorial Hospital after suffering injuries in a single-vehicle accident Sunday night on U.S. Route 40 in Somerset County.

Kristin Hoffman was taken to the hospital by Northern Garrett Rescue Squad following the 8:45 p.m. accident that occurred in Addison near state Route 523, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said Hoffman suffered minor injuries. No information was available concerning her medical condition.

Trooper Scott D. Myers reported Hoffman was operating a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse eastbound when she traveled off the roadway and into a guardrail.

The vehicle then became airborne and traveled 57 feet over an embankment before it struck a residential garage.
