CUMBERLAND - The Hampshire girls coasted, while the Hampshire boys withstood the Keyser Golden Tornado's efforts as both Trojans teams swept to the team championships in last week's Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference Meet, held Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at Greenway Avenue Stadium.

The Hampshire girls won with a total of 122.5 points, followed by Mountain Ridge with 79.5, Keyser with 72, Southern with 59, Allegany with 59, Northern with 55, Frankfort with 49 and Fort Hill with 31.

Hampshire took the boys meet with 117 points to hold off Keyser at 108. Mountain Ridge was third with 67 points, followed by Allegany with 63, Frankfort with 61, Fort Hill with 41, Southern with 38 and Northern with 32.

For the Hampshire girls, Jeanne Jendras took first place in the 100-meter hurdles (16.60 seconds) and second place in the 300-meter hurdles, which were won by the Trojans' Samantha Jendras (48.06).

Daytona Maher won the 100-meter dash in 12.84 seconds, while Tiffany Utz took the long jump at 4-feet, 9-inches. Hampshire also finished first in the 4 x 100-meter and 4 x 800-meter relays.

For Mountain Ridge, Maura Jones won the 200-meter dash (26.40) and the 400-meter dash (1:01.81). Janelle Walbert won the 800-meter run (2:25.85).

For Keyser, Matraca Shirley won the discus (93-9), and Lindsay Broadwater won the shot put (30-11). Keyser had the winning team in the 4 x 200-meter relay team as well, with Shakia Coates, Christina Koontz, Liz Dohony and Kacee Whetzel finishing in 1:56.29.

Paula Renteria was an individual double-winner for Southern, taking the high jump (4-10) and the triple jump (30-10.25). Renteria was also on the winning 4 x 100-meter shuttle hurdle relay team along with Lauren Neville, Torie Bosley and Samantha Taylor, who finished in 1:12.44.

Taylor finished first in the pole vault with a mark of 7-6.

Allegany's Lauryn MacFawn was also a double-winner, taking the 1600-meter run (5:17.44) as well as the 3200-meter run (11:30.06).

Leading the way for the Hampshire boys was John Paul Binotto, who won the 800 meters in a time of 2:03.44, and was also a member of the winning 4 x 800 relay team, which won in 8:26.20. Joining Binotto on the team were Cody Michael, Justin Oates and Zach Shawen.

Also for the Trojans, Michael Clark took the 100-meter dash (11.47) and Jayme Watson won the discus (133-5).

Keyser's Jeremy Green won the 200-meter dash (23.34) and was a member the winning 4 x 200 and 4 x 100 shuttle hurdle relay teams. Joining Green on the 4 x 200 (1:35.96) were Taige Redman, Tyler Hartman and Kaison Rohrbaugh. The winning shuttle hurdle team (1:03.34) was rounded out by Orrin Staggers, Grant Blaisdell and Rohrbaugh.

Blaisdell, who also won the 100-meter hurdles (15.70) was also on the winning 4 x 400 relay team (3:39.94) along with Redman, Wes Washington and Rohrbaugh.

Rohrbaugh, a member of three winning relay teams, also won the 400-meter dash (53.44). Matt Wilmer won the long jump (20-1) for the Golden Tornado.

Mountain Ridge's Gavin Caupp won the 1600-meter run (4:45.30), while Allegany's Jeff Babich won the triple jump (39-6.75).

Frankfort won the 4 x 100 relay (45.63) with the team of Joey Lucin, Malcolm Joyner, Ian Loy and Christian Brown. Fort Hill's Kris Steckman won the shot put (43-3).

Southern's Caiden Shaffer was a double-winner, taking the 300-meter hurdles (42.07) and pole vault (11-4), while Northern's Ryan Bowser won the 3200-meter run (10:10.50) with Roland Fisher taking the high jump (6-5).
