Hattie H. (Cole) Phillips

CUMBERLAND — Hattie H. (Cole) Phillips, 83, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at the Golden Living Center.

Born Feb. 16, 1925 in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Taylor Cole and Mozelle (Harper) Cole. Hattie was also preceded in death by one sister, Yvonne “Bonnie” Cole; and one daughter, Scherre (Gilmore) Taylor.

Ms. Phillips graduated from Frederick High School of Cumberland in 1941 and she was a former employee with American Woodmart of Moorefield, W.Va.

She was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church at Potomac Park of Cumberland and the Red Hat Society. She formerly was a member of the Ladies Auxliary Washington Smith Post 152 and the Church of God and Christ, of Keyser, W.Va., where she once served as the President of Church United Women and as Director of Special Programs.

Hattie is survived by two sons, Glen Page of Plainfield, N.J. and Darryl Page and wife Tina of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one daughter, Arsene Tolliver of Plainfield, N.J.; five grandsons, Wesley Jordan, Rashad, Na'eem, Tahir “Ty” and Jamelle Page; one granddaughter, Lisa Page; and two great-grandsons, Randy and Amir Page.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastors Solomon Lloyd, Kenneth Watkins and Darin Allen officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
