BEANS COVE, Pa. — The Rowe-Hallier family reunion will be held today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hidden Springs Campground, Pleasant Valley Road.
Keyser council to meet
KEYSER, W.Va.— The Keyser City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the council chambers of City Hall.
Items on the agenda include a request from Joe Altobello in regard to a July 1 race; discussion of a grant application for work at the Limestone Dam; an ordinance regulating grass and brush; and a request in regard to the Fire Escape youth group.
The meeting is open to the public.
Chapter sets visitation
FROSTBURG — Mountain Chapter 15, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold grand visitation Tuesday at 8 p.m. with the grand officers of the Grand Chapter of Maryland, Order of the Eastern Star, at the Masonic Lodge, Braddock Road.
Playgrounds offer programs
CUMBERLAND —The Cumberland Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a playground program at four locations — the Centre Street Playground and Cumberland Housing Authority’s units of Benjamin Banneker Apartments, Fort Cumberland Homes and Jane Frazier Village.

Frostburg hires Lisa Beeman
FROSTBURG — Lisa Beeman has been hired as a community development program specialist by the city of Frostburg, filling a position formerly called code enforcement officer.
Beeman, a Frostburg resident, was most recently the compliance officer for Mineral County, W.Va. Her duties will include code enforcement, permits and planning under the direction of Richard Harris, director of community development.
Beeman replaces Shawn Hershberger, who departed in May. She will help with a pending update of the city’s comprehensive plan.
Veterans event set July 4
FROSTBURG — Operation: Frostburg goes GI is set for July 4 beginning at 9 a.m. The event is a tribute to all veterans who have served in the U.S. armed forces.
Veterans in uniform will march, ride or walk down Main Street and participate in a ceremony at Frostburg State University Stadium with Medal of Honor recipient Woody Williams as the speaker.
Lunch will be provided at City Place and the American Legion.
