CUMBERLAND — Mildred Douthitt, 85, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home, Frostburg.
Born Nov. 14, 1920, in Pinto, she was the daughter of the late John and Lottie Skelley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Douthitt; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Mildred worked at Antons Restaurant of Frostburg, Sacred Heart Hospital and The Cumberland Blouse Factory. Mildred’s hobbies in-cluded gardening, canning fruits and vegetables and camping along the South Branch of the Potomac.
Surviving are one son, Roy Douthitt and wife Paula of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Linda Miller and husband Steven of Hanover, and Karen Layman and husband Ralph of Severn; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ethel Houser of Frostburg.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, (scarpellifh.com) on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Father James Kurtz, O.F.M., Cap., officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
