FINZEL - Myles Franklin Werner, 87, of Corsicana, Texas, formerly of Finzel, died Saturday, May 13, 2006.

Born Oct. 1, 1918, in Finzel, he was the son of the late James and Laura (Canton) Werner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Helen Werner; his sister, Leona Biddington; and his son, James Werner.

He was survived by the following children, Patricia Bodes and husband Tom; Judy Telligman and husband Roger; Ronald Werner and wife Salley; Gary Werner and wife Judy; Jack Werner and wife Barb; Mary Jane Murdock and Butch Whisner; Linda Kay Whisner and husband Randy; and Susie Shoap and husband Kenneth. He was survived by 22 grandchildren, Gary Bodes, Barb Knotts, Lisa Sowers, James Werner, Leslie Vickery, Leann Dillon, Tina Fuller, Chris Wagner, Ronald Werner, Brian Werner, Becky Bureick, Danny Werner, Krista Werner, Scott Werner, Dee Dee Nichols, Melissa Swauger, Eric Swauger, Kristin Compton, Barbara Whisner, Bradley Whisner, Mandy Crocker, and Megan Sozio. He was survived by 14 beloved great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Corsicana. During his lifetime he worked at the Allegheny Ballistics Laboratory, and after his retirement he was a greeter at Walmart in Corsicana.

A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pocohontas, Pa.

A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Albert Anselmi officiating.

Interment will follow at the Finzel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Bodes, Eric Swauger, Greg Knotts, and Keith Kretchman.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Finzel Cemetery .
