CUMBERLAND — Charles Hinnant, new Cumberland chief of police, recently toured all eight city schools. He was accompanied by School Resource Officer, Cpl. Jim Hott and acting assistant superintendent for administration for the Board of Education, Jim Smith. Visits were made to Northeast, South Penn, John Humbird and West Side Elementary schools, Braddock and Washington Middle schools, and Fort Hill and Allegany High schools. Cpl. Hott led the tour. Smith acted as the tour facilitator.
According to school officials, Hinnant couldn’t have been more pleased and impressed with the findings of his tour.
He stated that the pride that every school takes in maintaining the facilities is a direct reflection of the commitment to presenting a positive appearance in their respective schools on the parts of administrators, faculty, staff and students.
