ACT 1st Federal Credit Union opens Romney branch office

Officials take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 14 for the new ACT 1st Federal Credit Union branch office at 555 W. Main St. in Romney, W.Va.

ROMNEY, W.Va. — ACT 1st Federal Credit Union opened a new branch office on Oct. 14 at 555 W. Main St. in Romney.

Omni Associates — Architects designed the two-story, 2,695 square-foot facility, which was built by Morgan-Keller Construction.

The ACT 1st Federal Credit Union project team included Christie Clark, CEO/president/treasurer; Renae Holt, CFO; Meredythe Lint, vice president of member service; Roxanne King, human resources/compliance officer and Sharon Barnes, Romney branch manager.

ACT 1st Federal Credit Union’s grand opening celebration was held Oct. 23. Members enjoyed light refreshments, a promo item giveaway and special offers.

After business hours, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception took place. Many members of the ACT 1st Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee and staff attended.

Also in attendance were Romney Mayor Beverly Keadle, Superintendent of Hampshire County Schools Jeffrey Pancione, Romney Elementary School principal Nicole Morris and Darrell Guyton, vice president, Specialty Contracts Group at Morgan-Keller Construction.

To kick off the ceremony, Shawnee McElfish, ACT 1st Federal Credit Union Board of Directors chair, welcomed guests. Clark, Elfish and Barnes then cut the ceremonial ribbon. Keadle also welcomed the credit union to Romney.

Clark presented a $5,000 check from ACT 1st to Pancione and Morris to benefit Romney Elementary School in appreciation of the school’s support of the credit union’s project.

Barnes introduced the ACT 1st Federal Credit Union Romney staff and Guyton then presented Clark with a plaque to commemorate the grand opening of the new credit union  office.

The office employees a staff of eight, including Barnes, Ashley Bernier, member service representative; Christine Cox, loan officer; Melissa Fout, member service representative; Mindy Hartman, member service representative; Heather Liberati, receptionist; Donna Sirk, loan officer and Angela Wolford, member service representative.

The full-service branch offers a complete line of financial products through its member service, lending and drive-thru operations.
