BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. — Chase Thomas has been promoted to the position of controller at Clear Mountain Bank. He will oversee the bank’s primary accounting functions and financial analysis.
Thomas began his career with Clear Mountain Bank as a credit analysis intern in 2013 and entered the bank’s management trainee program. He has served in various capacities, including his current position of associate accountant.
“Chase will be a vital part of the finance department, and his excellent analytical skills will help guide the bank’s financial decisions to allow us to continue to grow and provide high quality products and services to our customers,” said Jeffrey Smith, chief financial officer.
Thomas is a graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. He is in the process of obtaining his master’s in business administration from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

Thomas is active in the Future Leaders Council of the West Virginia Banker’s Association and participated in the Emerging Leaders Program through the WVBA. He is also active in Community Bankers of West Virginia and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, through which he is a licensed CPA.
