CUMBERLAND — Western Maryland Dermatology has been serving patients in Western Maryland for over 40 years with offices in Cumberland and McHenry.
Not only have the offices been meeting the needs of patients from Washington County to Morgantown, West Virginia, they have also been a significant employer in the region. The practices now have over 40 employees who call Western Maryland their home.
“Our commitment to the area is unwavering,” said Dr. Daniel Herring, a board certified dermatologist,
Western Maryland Dermatology’s McHenry location was destroyed by a November 2016 fire. A temporary location was quickly established, and a new building was built at the site of the previous location, near Deep Creek Lake.
“We know and love the area, our business partners and our patients,” Herring said. “It was a large investment to continue serving Garrett County and the surrounding area, we know it was worth it.”
The McHenry office is currently open three days a week and plans are in the works to expand hours as demand increases.
Western Maryland Dermatology offers treatment for skin cancers and cosmetic services such as laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, Botox, fillers and tattoo removal. All procedures are completed in a safe and sterile environment at its facilities.
“We offer top-notch facilities that are unique to our region,” Dr. Sean McCagh said. “You would typically have to drive an hour or more away to get the amazing care that you do in our offices, and it is in our backyard. Why would you want to go anywhere else?”
With May being skin cancer awareness month, doctors suggest checking your skin and performing a mole map chart, which can be downloaded at the website www.wmderma.com/mole.
