OAKLAND — Lt. Clark Warnick will serve as the manager of safety and security for Garrett County Public Schools effective July 1.
Warnick has been employed as a school resource officer with the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office since 2013. He was a deputy sheriff and criminal investigator from 1994-2013. “I would like to congratulate Lt. Warnick on his appointment as manager of safety and security,” said Superintendent of Schools Barbara Baker. “We are extremely fortunate to have an officer of his caliber join our school system. His experience as a member of Garrett County law enforcement and as an SRO will allow him the ability to begin enhancing our safety efforts immediately.”
Warnick is a 1986 graduate of Southern Garrett High School and a 1994 graduate of the University of Maryland Police Academy. He has attended classes and workshops in School-Based Policing/Response to Active Threat, Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, ALICE Instructor courses, Threat Assessment in the School Environment, Children in Crisis and FBI Responding to School Violence.
