BUTLER, Pa. — Imhotep George exploded for 50 points, breaking the single-game school record, as Allegany College defeated Butler County 125-93 on Monday night in college men’s basketball action.
George shot 20 of 31 from the floor, including 5 of 10 from three-point land, and was 5 for 7 from the free-throw line for his game-high tally. He also grabbed 20 rebounds, a shared game-high, to record a double-double.
George broke the Trojans’ single-game record by three points, a record that stood for just over 52 years when Tim Scaletta dropped 47 against Potomac State on Dec. 6, 1967.
E’Mari Johnson joined George in the double-double club with 20 boards to go with 23 points on 9 of 15 shooting and 5 of 7 from the stripe.
O’Bray Rufus and Derrick Dixon added 14 points apiece for the Trojans, who led 68-38 at halftime.
For Butler County, Andrew Yonker had 29 points and Julian Sanks tacked on 26.
Allegany (9-16) hosts CCBC Dundalk today.
