LAVALE — A Springfield, West Virginia, couple were arrested early Wednesday inside the LaVale Walmart after Allegany County sheriff's deputies found both in possession of handguns.
Jason Robert Malcolm and Stacey Lynn Malcolm were arrested about 1 a.m. on charges of wearing a loaded handgun on person and carrying a loaded handgun.
Jason Malcolm, 34, was also charged with possession of a stolen regulated handgun, three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stacey Malcolm, 34, was also charged with carrying a dangerous weapon about her person, police said.
Following the arrests, the couple were jailed at the Allegany County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing by a district court commissioner.
Police reportedly observed Jason Malcolm with a 1911-style pistol in a holster on his hip. When confronted by the deputy, he relinquished the weapon without incident.
Police determined the firearm — a loaded .45-caliber pistol — was reported as stolen in West Virginia.

Deputies also found Stacey Malcolm in possession of a concealed and loaded .38-caliber revolver.
Police said additional paraphernalia and prescription pills were located in Malcolm's vehicle.
