Baltimore heroin dealer sentenced to 20 years in prison

Darrell Doswell Savoy

CUMBERLAND — A Baltimore man was sentenced to a 20-year prison term Thursday after he pleaded guilty in Allegany County Circuit Court to distributing heroin to a police officer, according to State's Attorney Michael O. Twigg and the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force.

Darrell Doswell Savoy was also ordered to serve two years supervised probation upon release from prison by Judge Gary G. Leasure. Five years of the prison sentence was suspended, so Savoy will actually serve 15 years.

The case was the result of investigation by the task force into the distribution and sales of heroin and crack cocaine in Allegany County.
