Bedford County woman arrested in Cumberland traffic stop

CUMBERLAND — A Pennsylvania woman remained jailed Friday after she was arrested on misdemeanor drug charges, Cumberland Police said.

Sandra Diane Rust, 56, of Bedford, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (not marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia before she was jailed in lieu of $2,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center, pending bail review by a district court judge.

Police said the arrest was made after a Cumberland K-9 unit alerted for the presence drugs in the vehicle that was occupied by Rust and two other people.

Crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia were found during a search, police said.
