CUMBERLAND — Cumberland Fire Department averaged 19 calls per day in October, according to Chief Donald Dunn.
The department responded to 586 incidents, including 469 calls for ambulances, 14 of which were outside the city.
Fire and ambulance units responded to one building fire, three minor fires and one vehicle fire. The department also responded to 20 vehicle accidents, four hazardous material incidents, three hazardous conditions incidents and five elevator extrication incidents.
Cumberland’s ambulance was alerted to assist Bowman’s Addition five times, Cresaptown and Ridgeley three times, Wiley Ford twice and Fort Ashby once.
The city received assistance from Cresaptown and Bowman’s Addition once each when all of Cumberland’s ambulances were on other incidents.
