CUMBERLAND — A city woman pleaded guilty in Allegany County Circuit Court Tuesday to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force and State's Attorney's Office jointly announced.

Ashley Marie Baldwin was sentenced to 15 years in the Maryland Department of Corrections. Judge Jeffrey S. Getty suspended three years of the sentence and Baldwin will serve three years of supervised probation upon her release from prison.

The case was the result of an investigation conducted by the Narcotics Unit into the distribution and sale of heroin. During the investigation, detectives executed a search and seizure warrant in the 200 block of East Elder Street in April, which resulted in the seizure of heroin in sufficient quantity to indicate sales and distribution.

The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by George V. McKinley.
