Cumberland man allegedly points rifle at neighbor

CUMBERLAND — A 21-year-old city man was arrested early Sunday following a disturbance in which he allegedly pointed a rifle at his neighbor, Cumberland Police said.

No injuries were reported in the 1:54 a.m. incident that resulted in the arrest of Bryan Lane Kidwell on charges of first- and second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Following the arrest, Kidwell was granted pre-trial release after posting $25,000 unsecured bond set by a district court commissioner.

Police said a rifle used in the incident was recovered at the scene at the time of the arrest.
