CUMBERLAND — A city man was jailed without bond Friday after Cumberland Police said he stole a dog from a Cecelia Street home.

Michael Thomas Shipley Jr., 32, allegedly entered the residence on Thursday without permission and took the dog, Cumberland Police said.

Shipley was charged with first- and fourth-degree burglary, theft and three counts of trespassing.

He was being held Saturday in the Allegany County Detention Center pending trial in district court on the charges.
