Cumberland woman arrested in alleged Arch Street assault

CUMBERLAND — A city woman remained jailed Thursday following her Wednesday night arrest stemming from a disturbance complaint at a residence in the 100 block of Arch Street, Cumberland Police said.

Shana Marie Stansberry, 32, of Cumberland, was charged with second-degree assault on police, obstructing and hindering, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace before being jailed on $5,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Police said a female victim suffered visible injuries in the 9:45 p.m. incident but did not seek medical treatment.

Following the arrest, police said Stansberry became disruptive during processing at the Cumberland Police headquarters where she allegedly pushed an officer.
