CUMBERLAND — A city woman is awaiting trial after being charged Tuesday with assaulting a Cumberland Police officer.

Christina Ann Miller, 39, was charged with second-degree assault on police, disorderly conduct and possessing an open container of alcohol in a public place before before being granted pre-trial release.

Miller was arrested after police responded to an assault complaint at Jane Frazier Village. Told to discard an open bottle of alcohol that she was holding, Miller refused and began yelling at officers. She reportedly ignored police orders to stop yelling and grabbed the vest of an arresting officer as she was being taken into custody.
