D.C. man arrested in I-68 traffic stop

Robert Emmanuel Aderoju

CUMBERLAND — A Washington, D.C., man was jailed Tuesday following a traffic stop by Cumberland Police on Interstate 68 for an equipment violation.

Robert Emmanuel Aderoju, 20, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony and various other drug and weapon offenses.

Following appearance before a district court commissioner, Aderoju was ordered jailed without bond pending bail review by a district court judge.

Police said an odor of suspected marijuana coming from the vehicle prompted a probable cause search. In addition to the marijuana, a large amount of currency and a loaded handgun with an altered serial number were located inside the vehicle, police said.
