Md. early voting dates, hours noted

For the primary election, early voting centers will be open starting Friday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 9 in Allegany and Garrett counties.

The early voting centers will be open Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 6. However, they will not be open on Sunday, Sept. 5.

Each of Maryland’s two westernmost counties have one early voting center. In Allegany County, voters are directed to the County Office Complex on Kelly Road. Early voting will take place in room 212 near the Board of Elections office.

In Garrett County, ballots can be cast at the Oakland Community Center, also known as the Oakland Armory Building, located at 14 N. 8th St., Oakland.

Early voting centers will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. each day of early voting. Anyone in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.


Westernport water will be affected

WESTERNPORT — Water service will be off in portions of Westernport Tuesday because of construction work.

The following streets will be affected: Duckworth, Brashear, Spring and Ross. Water service will be off for a four-hour period beginning at 10 a.m.
