Miami man charged in thefts from vehicles

CUMBERLAND — Alleged thefts of items from parked vehicles in the city of Cumberland led to charges against a 19-year-old Miami man, Cumberland Police said.

Alexander Fonesca was charged by summons with two counts each of rogue and vagabond, willful motor vehicle tampering, climbing into vehicle with malicious intent and theft from $100 to $1,500.

Fonesca is awaiting trial in district court after being served the summons Sunday.

The charges stemmed from an Aug. 2 investigation into multiple thefts from parked vehicles, police said.
