FROSTBURG — Two police officers were injured early Sunday while attempting to break up a "disorderly crowd" of about 200 people outside a Bobcat Court residence, Frostburg City Police said.
Responding officers were met with several people allegedly throwing rocks at them after being called to the area about 12:38 a.m. for a noise complaint.
Officers dispersed the crowd by using pepper spray, according to a release from Frostburg Police Sunday afternoon.
Two officers suffered minor injuries when coming in contact with the pepper spray. Two police vehicles were damaged by rocks, police said.
An investigation is continuing and police are attempting to identify those throwing rocks.
Frostburg Police were assisted by Frostburg State University Police, the Allegany County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police.
