Police investigate attempted abduction

SWANTON — Maryland State Police is seeking information following an attempted abduction in Garrett County.

The incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Troopers said a woman was sitting in her broken-down vehicle in the 3600 block of Glendale Road when a man entered and attempted to forcefully remove her.

He was unsuccessful, and reportedly fled east toward state Route 495.

The suspect was described as a bald white man with a thin build and about 6 feet, 3 inches tall. He was clean shaven and had a green colored tattoo on his upper left arm, police said.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt.

Police said the suspect was driving a new model, blue/teal colored Jeep Wrangler with a black hardtop roof. It possibly had Ohio registration.
