BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. — A Preston County bicyclist died Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle on Old Route 73.
Robin Ames, 37, of Bruceton Mills, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:15 p.m. accident, according to a news release issued by West Virginia State Police.
Police said the accident occurred about 5:15 p.m. when Ames was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Equinox driven by Tara Evans, also of Bruceton Mills.
Evans was taken to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital by Bruceton Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department ambulance.
Police said the accident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
