FROSTBURG — Alex Kelly has been appointed as associate administrator of the Region I and II office of the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services System.
“Alex comes to us with many years of emergency medical services experience including years of volunteer service with the Frostburg Ambulance Service,” Region I and II Administrator Dwayne Kitis said in an email announcement Tuesday.
A retired Maryland State Police sergeant with 22 years of service, Kelly spent most of his career in the Aviation Command, including Section Supervisor of Trooper 5 stationed at the Greater Cumberland Regional Airport located in Wiley Ford, West Virginia.
Kelly also worked for many years in volunteer service with the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service and commercially with Allegany Ambulance.
Kelly will be based at the MIEMSS regional office at 16 South Broadway where he will be sharing duties for both regions, according to Kitis.
The Maryland Emergency Medical Services System is a coordinated statewide network that includes volunteer and career EMS providers, medical and nursing personnel, communications, transportation systems, trauma and specialty care centers and emergency departments.
