Salisbury man bilked of $53,000 in phone scam

SALISBURY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police investigated a fraud complaint that resulted in loss of $53,000 from an elderly Salisbury resident.

The victim was told in the Aug. 5 phone scam that he had won $2 million but would first have to send processing fees totaling $53,000 in order to receive the winnings.

The victim told police he sent the requested money to the caller.
