FROSTBURG — Six people were hurt Friday night in a single vehicle, rollover crash on Interstate 68 at Frostburg, according to the Allegany Department of Emergency Services.
The accident occurred just before 9 p.m. in westbound lanes near exit 34.
"A female occupant was transported by Maryland State Police Aviation to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown in serious condition after she was ejected from the vehicle," Lt. Todd Bowman, public information officer for the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services, said.
The five other injured occupants were taken by ambulance to UPMC Western Maryland.
Westbound lanes were closed for more than three hours. Eastbound lanes were closed briefly to allow the helicopter to land.
Maryland State Police investigated, but had released no information early Saturday.
Units from Frostburg, Shaft and Eastern Garrett Volunteer Fire Departments, along with ambulances from Allegany County Department of Emergency Services, Mount Savage, Cresaptown and George's Creek responded to the incident.
